Health & property concerns: Cockroaches contaminate food by transporting organisms that can cause disease. This includes mainly food poisoning (Salmonella organisms), as well as diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses. Because roaches transmit such organisms, the disease threat is considered sufficient to justify immediate control of infestations.

Control: Determined after identification of roach species.

Preparation for service: The kitchen must be stripped of everything, as if you were moving out. The only exceptions would be microwaves, coffee makers etc.; they also will need to be serviced for possible nests. Bathrooms too, must be stripped in the same manner. It is always best to service the entire house. It will be necessary to pull everything away from the wall 6 inches to a foot. If it is determined that the outside needs to be serviced, you will need to pick up all pet and children's toys (anything that they may put in their mouths). You will need to vacate the premises for at least two hours, then when you return, air out the building for a minimum of 30 minutes.

What to expect after service: There will be activity for 3 to 4 weeks. This is normal as females can stay inside the walls while they are carrying eggs for up to 30 days without food or water. You need to patient until all the generations have hatched and died.
