Hot Shots Pest Control decontaminates, deodorizes and performs a complete dropping cleanup for your home and business.

Attics—even those not used for storage, are a common area in which rodent droppings are found. Utility companies such as cable, phone and electrical, can and will refuse to enter a contaminated attic for obvious health risks.

Contamination by rodents, their droppings, urine, saliva and hair present a health and safety issue. Rats and mice carry a number of viruses and diseases, including Hanta Virus. Fleas on rats and mice also can transmit their diseases. Even though the deadly Hanta Virus strain is not predominate in our area, it is among us and we don't know where or when it will show up. We must assume that the virus is present for our protection and yours.

Rodents make pockets in any type of insulation, where they live and breed. Rodent urine is absorbed in the insulation and wood framing, causing a stench which intensifies in the heat of summer. Rodent feces can hold infectious gases for several years. When the droppings are disturbed by sweeping or vacuuming, they release gases which you cannot see or smell. The gases can enter the heating and cooling ducts of the structure which are then inhaled. The reaction to these gases range from mild flu like symptoms to fatality. These gases can aggravate anyone, especially those with respiratory problems such as asthma. It can also have an effect on young children whose immune systems have not fully developed, or the elderly whose immune systems are weakened. Pets are also at risk of contracting these viruses. They may show a disinterest for food and sleep for extended periods of time.

Hot Shots Pest Control is Hanta Virus certified.
