Fumigation, which has no residual, is subject to re-infestation almost immediately thereafter. On the contrary, US 20 Mule Team Borax provides effectual, long term residual control for all forms of wood destroying pests and organisms, not just target pests as with fumigation. Unlike fumigation, there is no need to vacate the premises overnight, or at all. Neither is it necessary to bag all the foodstuffs, remove plants and pets during the course of treatment as with fumigation. Moreover, there is no damage inflicted upon the roof covering, nor plant damage around the exterior. Fumigation is warranted for only a two-year period on preexisting infestations only, and is limited only to the target pest.
